Abstract
Today, increasing concerns about food safety have increased the need for transparent and reliable systems. Blockchain technology, with its features such as immutability, precise traceability and transparency, provides an opportunity to transform the food supply chain and offers a new solution to improve food safety. This article examines the application of blockchain technology in food safety and authenticity and the claims in this regard. Considering the market value of halal food and its significant challenges, it explains how this emerging technology can increase traceability, authenticity and compliance with safety and halal standards across global supply chains. It also highlights some of the uses of this technology by some food manufacturing companies. Although blockchain technology offers promising solutions through its immutable record-keeping capabilities, distributed verification mechanisms and transparency, it is still in its infancy and faces significant challenges. Therefore, it seems necessary to develop and implement regulatory regulations at different stages of its implementation
